Taj Mahal - India

Taj Mahal means Crown of the Palace. It is located on the south bank of Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. This was designed by Archt. Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. This was built by Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The total height is 73 m (240 ft). This project was started in 1632 and completed in 1653 at a cost estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees.
The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by the court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. They followed Mughal architectural style for construction. Materials such as white marble, jade, crystal had been used here.
